“You… are amazing.”
So you know that moment in a movie….
…when two people who obviously are in love with each other but haven’t figured it out yet because they’re idiots (even though every other character in the movie already knows) and they get separated… but suddenly one of them turns back and runs after the other (queue montage of running a la Lion King) and they’re running and running — will they get there in time?! — and running and then they finally get there and stand ~50 feet away from their romantic interest and yell that person’s name at the top of their lungs.
And then this person — their true love, their soulmate, whathaveyou — turns around and they both start towards each other, grinning / crying / emotional… but instead of immediately embracing, they stop a few feet away from each other and there’s this tense pause, like “How do we move forward?” And they’re both breathing hard from the running — or maybe just the apprehension of this moment — and yet they feel as if they can’t breathe, like there’s a weight on their chests and not enough air in the world could fill their lungs.
But then — without warning — one’s expression gives a fraction of an inch and he steps forward and grabs the other, either in a hug or a kiss or something to convey how passionately he feels about the other, because they’re right and they’re together and even though there are a thousand reasons why they can’t possibly be with each other, there’s at least one reason that they should try — and one is enough.
So that moment, right, you know it?
